I am about to install IUCLID 5.2. Can you give me some top tips for doing this efficiently?
  • As companies submit their REACH registration dossiers, they are having to install and operate the new version of the dossier compilation tool IUCLID 5.2. what common problems can new users learn from?
  • Installing IUCLID 5.2 is not too hard but you do need to be reasonably IT literate. It helps too if you understand what each component does and how they fit together.

You need to allow plenty of time to install IUCLID 5.2, rushing the process decreases the likelihood of success. And you need to have Administrator access to your PC.

My top 3 tips would be as follows:

    1. Download and read the IUCLID 5.2 install guide before you do anything else. If you don't understand them, ask for some expert help - let me know if you need any.

    2. Download everything you need in advance
    . PostgreSQL
    . JRE (Java Runtime Environment)
    . IUCLILD 5.2 Client
    . Reference Substance Inventory
    . LEOX file
    . EC Inventory
. Plugins (these can be added later if you prefer)
    . ...

    3. Install step-by-step according the the instructions and varify that each component has installed properly before moving on the the next stage. This will help with troubleshooting if you have problems.
  • Why still using IUCLD 5.3, ECHA has requested dossier made by IUCLD 5.3
